Michelle the founder of Southport Pilates since 2016 fell in love with movement as a child and hasn't stopped moving since. She discovered Pilates after a snowboard injury through the suggestion of a Physical Therapist. With a dance and gymnastic background Pilates was a perfect match. After seventeen years of practice and upon relocating to North Carolina's coastal community, Michelle has since completed both Classical Mat, Comprehensive and Advanced Apparatus/Equipment Pilates teacher certifications, along with may individual certificates in Osteo, Scoloisis and Neuro Pilates studies. Later opening Southport Pilates in 2016
Also a registered Yoga teacher (E-RYT200) she offer classes with in the local Southport and Bald Head Island communities. Teaching mindful movement with an anatomical approach.
Along with Pilates and Yoga, Barre is another one of Michelle's favorite. Trained and certified in the Barre Fit method. Barre Fit is based on the Lotte Berk system.
Sabrina comes to Southport Pilates from Maryland. Having a personal background and love of Pilates she was inspired by the method to pursue her Classical Mat and Apparatus certification.

Certified Pilates & Barre Teacher
Alice began her personal Pilates practice in 2009 and found it a good outlet for stress relief and a great way to reshape her mind and body. She loved the graceful, intuitive yet challenging nature of the movement and Pilates quickly became a passion.
After a long successful career in Health Care sales she decided to leave Corporate America behind and pursue a new career path as a Pilates Instructor.
She has been teaching Pilates since 2014 and is a Balanced Body graduate with a Comprehensive Instructors Certification. She completed Barre training in 2017 and is a certified Barre Instructor through Barre Above™.
Her favorite quote from Joseph Pilates is ““Pilates will develop the body uniformly, correct wrong postures, restore physical vitality, invigorate the individual, and elevate the spirit.”
